I was board so just for fun I figured the points by FINISHING order only. Several factors could be figured in as laps lead and pole bonus points ( example: if you figured in bonus points Hudson would be higher than 4th). Out of the to 20 only the top 7 have competed in all three events this year. Being the most cars we would ever have is 99 I started with the race winner receiving 99 points and dropping 1 point per position. Notice Tony Conway's 60th place finish at Rockingham really hurt him. If we could get 8 to 10 races a year we could probably drop our worst finish or no start. What do yall think about a points system?

Thats pretty neat Steve. I've always been a points racer so I like keeping stats and points even if just for fun. I wonder how the points are for all kimmel races since the first Kentucky race. That last Rock race did kill me the only other bad one we had was the second Ky race with a dnf.

Hey shadley, it should be 100 points to the winner so that last place could still get 1 point. also how bout a bonus system like 2 points for every psition you advanced in the race. example if WALDO started in 50 position and advances a total of 40 spots finishing 10 place he will get 90 for finish and a bonus of 80 bringin his total to 170 for the race. this would help out a guy if he were to have a bad race or mcanical problem he would not be totally out of the points. This way you wouldnt get discouraged and simply quit that year because you still have shot at being champion.

somebody should figure up what the points would be now under this scenario and compare the results. I would but dont have the time or patience. this would definately throw a bone to the guy who does not have chance at winning but still wants to run for points.

waldo what do you think? you give great opinions, lets brainstorm on this. Somebody figure up who would have been last years champ. Also any thing else that should be changed?

heres just an idea=
*25 bonus points to pole sitter then 5 point drop for top five in qualifying
*25 to leader at half way then 5 point drop for top five (exp. 2nd =20, 3rd=15, 4th=10, 5th=5)
*25 to winner
*25 to any one who leads lap
*50 points to most popular driver at the race voted by fans from grandstands
*50 points hard charger to the guy advancing the most positions in finishing order
*100 bonus to anybody that wins from starting last place at any track
*100 points "Tuff Luck" award to first guy who wipes out and has to go in on the hook
