Can anyone tell me what kind of final drive ratio is best at Salem?

3.25 is the only gear allowed.

I know what gear we have to run in the rear end, I'm wondering what the best overall drive ratio is.

3.25 is the only FINAL drive allowed as well. Fourth gear must be 1:1 ratio. Unless you're running a crate motor, then the gear is open but you still have to run the 5500rpm rev limit.

the best gear depends on what rpm your engine is camed to turn ......5500 and 6500 wouldnt run the same gear for max performance .........kimmel cars must run 3.25 and crates any gear

If ur talking about the kimmel race i wouldnt try more than the 3.25 even with the crate, especially if Frank adjust the limiter down to 5,000 rpm to keep the gears honest. If he leaves the limit at 5500 some people will be able to cheat the gear a bit. We was 3rd quick at salem and was nowhere near the 5000 mark.

If your talking about a non rev limited race the most common gear I've seen there is 4:56 which usually gets u around 6500 to 6800 rpms.
